How to Play Go

Go is played on a grid of intersections. Players take turns placing stones of their colour.

• Capture: Surround an opponent's stone (or group) on all adjacent intersections to remove it.
• Ko: You may not recreate the exact board position from the previous turn.
• Pass: Either player may pass. Two consecutive passes end the game.
• Scoring: Count territory (empty intersections surrounded) plus captures. Higher score wins.

This demo uses a 9×9 board — perfect for learning. Full Go is played on 19×19.
